This is an accomplished effort and more of the same from this top band. Diamonds is a great starter and Low is one hell of a song and one of the band's best tracks.

This album isn’t as good as they’ve released in the past, but it has some really good moments. There’s a stretch of about three or four songs that are really good right in the middle of the album, but the songs surrounding them aren’t anything particularly interesting. They’re a bit slow, a bit boring. If there’s one thing I can say about The Boxer Rebellion, it’s that I’ve always enjoyed the sound that they have. Similar to a Band Of Horses type sound, lots of reverbed guitars, powerful singing, and powerful drumming. It’s good, and they’ve released some solid stuff (see: “Exits"), and this album is pretty solid, but just not quite there. Check out the highlights, the rest is relatively forgettable.
