Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Greg Brown is one of the all-time great Americana singer-songwriter troubadours, and this is his finest moment. Further In is a collection of warm, downbeat folk tunes that are both beautifully crafted and genuinely moving. My favorite here is "Two Little Feet," the only (good) song I can think of about my favorite activity, hiking. Kind of a unique niche, I know, but what can I say? You gotta call 'em as you see 'em.
