Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.1/100, a mean average of 72.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.0.

When I come to think of it. It truly is one of the most chocking things, ever, finding this album on rank 28 that very year.
This is one of the greatest. And they are (this album), as earlier writer says, similar, and better than (later) Strokes, Arcade fire, Razorlight, Kings of Leon and so on.
Unfuckingbelivable
Very good for running!
Good album. Best 10 songs average is 84,2/100 and the album can get good 85/100. Sound is good, but bit monotonous on the long run, because quite similar in many songs. It's hard to say a best song. All songs are good 80-85/100, except last song "Ice cream van" is average 75/100 only.
Genre: Indie Rock
Just got on now, it's one I come back to. Agree with what the positive comments here say totally. I don't think it helps they are probably not the coolest band ever looks wise, maybe bit older too. A very good album song and sound wise. First 3 tracks are great, set it up nice.
Totally brilliant, there is not one bad song here.
The fact that it has come in for harsh criticism and is generally undervalued is more a reflection on listeners than the band themselves.
If you like poncey, girlie-whirlie, indie schmindie that couldn't rock it's way out of a paper bag don't bother, also if you like piss-poor records by The Strokes or Kings Of Leon, likewise.
This is one of the best record of the past decade and YOU ARE WRONG.
Another album I bought on the strength of one song, Daddy's Gone. I loved that song but the rest of the album is pretty dreadful really.

Strong album. Definitely worth checking out!
Like My Bloody Valentine with Phil Spector on production duties…from Glasgow sealed with a kiss.
