Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. This chart is great! I don't even mind all the ABBA inclusions because my ex-wife used to like them and I sort of got used to it, but aside from that, this chart is just one or two XTC albums away from being essentially perfect.

With only 2 albums in common, we have very different musical tastes - which is understandably cool - we all respond to music in our own unique ways. I thought the inclusion of 4 "Now That's What I Call Music" compilation albums was interesting.
My major issue with this chart is that there is not a single album from the southern hemisphere.
