I only rarely include EP's in my year charts, but I'll gladly make an exception for an electropop band I like as much as Hot Chip, and especially for a release containing a song as good as the title track of this one. The mood of the song is far from dark or stormy, though it is Hot Chip in a more serious mode than in some of their other releases. I think this upbeat, motivating sound suits them well, as this feels like a song that brings an important message while not taking itself so seriously you can't dance to it. Rather, it delivers me into a new dimension, which is exactly where I want to be if I'm listening to dance or trance music: "When you're feeling dark and stormy / Let me sing this song for you / In your room a forest grew / Walk through and lift your blues." Okay, gladly, and thank you.
