Great early eighties motown/soft rock offering paving the way for his two classic albums. There are some great tracks on this album though, underpinned with some classic eighties synth and electric bass sounds.

It is clear Lionel Richie was holding back some of his songwriting skills from the Commodores as saving some of his best ballads for his own solo work. On this set he has yet to have an awesome dream, though.
