Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.4/100, a mean average of 68.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.8.

This is Bruce springsteen's contribution to the MTV unplugged series, well, at least the first track anyway, a bluesy throwaway called, red headed woman, then Springsteen brings the band out. Unfortunately, it's not the E street band,(although Roy Bittan is there), but the group of musicians that made the, human touch/lucky town albums. It's not bad, just not great. The good moments are, better days, the excellent, man's job, and the beautiful, I wish I were blind. Elsewhere, there's, local hero, and, the exciting, light of day. Atlantic city, doesn't sound right at all,and the normally spectacular, thunder road, actually sounds a bit dull here. Some of the other stuff sounds a little lightweight, still, it is Bruce Springsteen , so it's always going to be fun, although, to enjoy the music more, it's probably best to watch the DVD version, it really is enjoyable, and you get to hear more songs. Not bad then, but the E streeters could have done it better.
