Revisited this album after 15 months and I had to increase my rating from 85/100 to 95/100. While Concrete Blonde were just developing their "sound" here it is still a remarkably awesome "sound" nonetheless. Tremendous consistency and Johnette Napolitano is one my all-time favorite vocalists. Love the entire Paisley underground package. You can't go wrong with Concrete Blonde!
Well this album is criminally underrated (or more accurately, probably overlooked). Maybe I'm biased because it's the best album by my favorite band. I used to think Bloodletting was their best album, but I was wrong. Every track here is gold. The only "weakness", if you want to call it that, is the True instrumental, but it is what it is. The other thing that stands out is how ahead of their time CB were. This album sounds like something from 1993, not 1986 - it took the band several years to catch up to their own sound with Mexican Moon...
