Pepper Adams on baritone sax is just fantastic throughout this album, famously said by Morgan to be a last-minute replacement for Hank Mobley's tenor. No shade on Mobley, but it works out great--Adams kills on this album. Morgan's fifth album as a leader, at nineteen years old, before his stint with Art Blakey, more than half a decade before his hit albums like Sidewinder. Miles's bass and drums with Blakey's pianist, and everyone sounds energized and fresh.

A very solid album, but a bit bland next to the likes of The Sidewinder and Cornbread.
