Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.7/100, a mean average of 76.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.9.

A good and enjoyable album. There are quite a few hidden gem tracks on this album which are great and really well made songs. Some of the other songs don't live up to this same height and feel more like filler tracks. The album doesn't feel as consistent as their debut but still worth a listen. Overall, it is a short and sweet album that does pack a punch in its short stay.

Still good, but not as essential as the debut.

I totally agree with garycotter...... maybe not as "classic" as the first
Album, still hangs in there with a great sophomore album.

A brilliant second album. Just as good as the first. Great quirky American new wave. Still sounds fresh today.

Not as steady as the debut but the highlights -- "Let's Go", "It's All I Can Do", the title track, "Got A Lot On My Mind", "Dangerous Type", and especially "Night Spots" -- are superior.

I think this album is very under appreciated because of their debut.....
There are some fine songs on this that hold up to "the cars" ......
Let's go, it's all I can do, candy-0 , the dangerous type to name a few...

Second times the charm. Not the legendary classic the debut is but I don't see how anyone who liked the debut can't enjoy this as well.

I used to have a 2-1 cassette with The Cars on one side and Candy O on the other. Poor old Candy O was IMO the poor cousin. Often I would just rewind many of the tunes say except Let's Go, Candy O and Dangerous Type so I could listen to The Cars again. Over time, while I still feel it isn't quite as strong as its predecessor, this album stands out on its own as a classic album.
