There's nothing here that will blow you away, but there's also nothing here that will make want to turn it off. Very enjoyable, I like how the instrumentation style differs from song to song while her vocals pretty much stay the same. Also one of those rare albums that gets better as it goes, the last three or so songs are the best.

Sharon Van Etten sits on the singer-songwriter spectrum somewhere near Chan Marshall and Will Oldham. This particular album is mostly understated. Another reviewer might have called it "maddeningly slow" and "boring." I have called it a "slow burner." Your call.
Your Love Is Killing Me is easily one of the best songs of the year!!! Beautiful song, definitely deserves a listen!

Definitely a grower; edges Tramp and Epic in my opinion. One of my favourites of 2014.
Not a bad album by any means. Although 'Tramp' stood out to me more.
