Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 81.9/100, a mean average of 80.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.6.

Well, this has aged exceptionally well. Think I had this since around release date and listened once in a while enjoying more each time. He's just so entertaining, properly funny with endless quotable lines, some of his best. Doom is relentless here. The production fitting perfectly. What once sounded very good now sounds classic and that's nothing to do with his untimely passing. As good as anything else he released. Damn, I regret passing on the chance to catch him live.

I like it quite a bit, but I don't see why this usually deemed the better album compared to the other 2003 project under King Geedorah.

Doom's best solo album in my opinion. Really well produced.

IMO the best of DOOM's solo albums is this little mini-masterpiece. It's done as the character Viktor Vaughn, who's DOOM's young apprentice and an evil scientist. We follow him through failed attempts of finding a girlfriend, through showing the underground rap scene how it's done, and through his crazy experiments, all told through brilliant lyrics. Vaudeville Villain is an album that needs focus for it to really click. If you just put it on as background music, it might seem boring and samey. It's definitely an example of an album where the sum is better than it's parts.

Another persona from MF Doom. Not my favorite album of his but good nonetheless.
