There is a reason why this chart has nearly 300 comments. Even if you don't agree with some of the selections (myself included), you cannot fail to be impressed at the thought and imagination that's gone into this chart. Here is somebody who has a genuine love for music.

I will send you SCREEN CAPS of my beautiful (shaved) ass only AFTER you rate my chart. If you give it a 100 I may just send you a short 10-second clip. I normally make people pay for those though.

Nice chart! Do not worry Joanna, nobody will be able to say your tastes are "mainstream" (ahhhhh!!), but still, you seem to missing out on the 2000s. We are coming to the end of a decade, which might not have been as innovative as the 60s or 70s, but there are some truly great albums and songwriters (Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Eels..). We have to live with our times, else we risk feeling quite isolated (unless ALL your friends listen to polish jazz). Greetings! (Edited)

velvetbanana, I haven't heard their box set, actually. It was just a Kanye West/Taylor Swift reference. I love Joy Division. I have their two studio albums and Substance. I may get the box set one day. Oh, and Ian is my 2nd favorite dancer behind David Byrne. Mr. Shankly, I'm actually with you on having proper studio albums only on here. I don't really like seeing compilations on people's list, unless it's a comp. for an artist who was most active before the album era. I don't see the big deal, though. It's just one entry, and I would never fill my chart with comps. I'm totally for the concept of the album as a cohesive work of art and I like that this site celebrates that. What I like about the VU set is that it keeps intact all of their studio albums, in chronological order, with track listings intact. Not one of their albums is compromised in the context of the box set. As far as I know, those box sets you named, except the Beatles, don't contain complete discographies with albums within the set intact. This is just my way of saying that VU is my favorite band and it's hard to choose between their 3 masterpieces-- and Loaded is pretty good, too. I'm keeping this list to 1 album per artist or it would be filled with VU and Zappa. Just ignore the #1, if you must, and just imagine my list starts with Newsom. Hey, it's just one entry. Sorry.
