Again a very short and impressive album from the namesakes, lol, In man y ways the Impressions are more soulful and true to the tradition than their better known brothers namely the Temptations, albeit being less known by the general public,
Throughout the album, Mayfield's songwriting shines, with lyrics that touch on themes of love, loss, and social justice. His voice is also a highlight, conveying a range of emotions from joy to heartache to defiance. The whole team gives an "Impressive" presentation of their awesome range,
Overall, "The Impressions" is a must-listen for fans of classic soul music, and a testament to the incredible talent and creativity of The Impressions and Curtis Mayfield. It's no wonder that their song "This Is My Country" is still celebrated and cherished. A fine accomplishment
