14 songs in just over 15 minutes. A perfect descriptor of what the 1980s would have to offer in American punk music. The hardcore style was sharpening its edges and trimming off what wasn't needed...boiling down to songs that are barely one minute in length each. As Lester Bangs said in his quasi-review of this album in 1982, "Hardcore is the womb."
They didnt have the agression of Minor Threat, the talent of Bad Brains, the cool guitars of Black Flag or the importance of The Germs, but it exemplifies everything fun about the genre.

The 12YO version of me that listened to this over and over on cassette would have sworn this compact little gem was longer than 15 minutes.

This is the greatest 15 minute "LP" I own! It's literally every great element of rock and roll and punk and hardcore just jammed into the amount of time it takes me to get to work! It's amazing! And if you wanna know my vote for greatest sub 1 minute song ever - it's "Red Tape" all the way! OMG! It's got drum fills and a couple quick guitar solos all stuffed in there! You gotta hear it to believe how perfect it is.
