Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.7/100, a mean average of 77.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.7.

AC/DC's 1977 album, Let There Be Rock, isn't just a record; it's a statement of purpose, a kick in the door of rock and roll. It's an album without frills, without ballads, without anything that isn't pure, raw, electrifying rock. It's the essence of what makes AC/DC one of the greatest bands in history.

From the moment the first notes of the title track explode in your ears, you know there's no escape. It's a journey into the heart of rock & roll, where Angus Young's furious, bluesy guitars intertwine with Bon Scott's voice, which sounds like he's singing from the bottom of a whiskey glass. The rhythm section of Malcolm Young, Phil Rudd, and Mark Evans creates a solid, powerful foundation that makes you want to nod your head.

Every song is an anthem. "Dog Eat Dog" hits you with a relentless groove, "Bad Boy Boogie" invites you to join the party, and "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be" is a lesson in life philosophy. But the centerpiece, the sonic monument of the album, is the epic "Let There Be Rock." This song is a biblical tale about the birth of rock, an anthem of power and pure musical delight that encapsulates the band's entire attitude in six unforgettable minutes.

Let There Be Rock isn't a perfect rock album in the technical sense, and therein lies its beauty. It's imperfect, dirty, loud, and rebellious, as rock should be. It's a masterpiece of simplicity and passion, capturing a band at the top of their game, before global success took them to giant stadiums. It is, in a word, rock and roll at its purest and most visceral.

After all the time since its release, this is still a masterpiece with every tune screaming rock. Everytime I listen to this album, I find myself involuntarily rocking my head to the music. You have to play this album loud because that way it was intended to be listened to. My Favorite song is “Shoot to Thrill”.

Classic rock album. Title track absolutely awesome. You Shook Me All Night Long and Hells Bells also great. Brian Johnson's voice is iconic.

4 of their best songs ever Hells Bells, Shoot to Thrill, Back in Black and You Shook Me All Night Long. A couple of good deep cuts Have A Drink On Me & Rock N Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution. The rest I consider filler some of it pretty weak. That being said this makes a compelling argument that this is their best album.

AC/DC create some great moments on here that are amongst the best the band has ever created. These include Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Hells Bells and Shoot To Thrill. These songs really carry the album in my opinion with a few more being pretty good but then the rest are average. Shake A Leg and Givin The Dog A Bone comes to mind when thinking of the weaker tracks and with these two specifically I do always contemplate just skipping straight past them when listening to this release. Despite this, the guitar work is consistently fantastic and I can easily see how this release could inspire a generation of future guitarists. Overall, the best songs are incredible but the filler tracks are mediocre making the record balance out at a solid listen.

This is the album that made me buy my first guitar... I learned to play every song and Angus Young has always been one of my favorite guitarists. Although the songs maintain a very similar structure, each of them is full of energy, "Back in Black," "Shoot to Thrill" and "You Shook Me All Night Long" are my favorites. They made this a great tribute to Bon Scott, AC/DC shined with this album.

One of the best comebacks and in my opinion the best AC/DC album full of hits. There is a lot of killer tracks (Hells Bells, Back In Black, Shoot To Thrill), but I have to say that there is filler too (What Do You Do For Money Honey and Shake A Leg are not good songs) the rest for me is sometimes stupid but fun.
