nothing exceptional but no howlers either - just a solid Crowes album, more than half of the songs are 4* and a handful of 3*s - bit on the 'safe' side for me, prefer when they're coming off the rails a bit more !

The overlooked album in the Black Crowes discography, this 1999 release finds the band sounding amazingly like Rod Stewart and The Faces. Thumbs up!
Maybe it's the most underrated Black Crowes' album.

I still remember that this was the first CD I bought from 1999, because it was in my first slot in my 110 CD disc changer. So whenever I finished listening to whatever new disk I had put in that year, it automatically then went to the next CD, which meant going back to slot 1, and I heard Chris Robinson calling out: "Got one, two, one time, two time, three time, four time, alright baby one time..." and then it goes into the bluesy rock of "Go Faster." So of course I hate that song now, even though it would otherwise be a perfectly fine southern rock song, the kind at which the Black Crowes excel so professionally.
