Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.5/100, a mean average of 75.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

I love "Gepetto," "Slow Dog," and "Feed the Tree". The album brings you right back to the early 90s.

Very good dream pop/alternative rock/indie rock album. Best 10 songs average is 91,2/100 and the album can get very good 90/100. Best songs are "Slow dog" and "Feed the tree" both 95/100, followed by "Dusted", "Low red moon", "Full moon, empty heart", "Untogether" and "Stay" all 90/100 and next "Angel", "Gepetto and "White belly" all 85/100. All other songs in the average region of 70-80/100. Favourite!

although Belly didn't stick around for long -- just this album and it's underappreciated follow-up -- the work they did together is some of the best alt-rock of the early 90's. in addition to the two albums, the band also recorded an excellent collection of b-sides that appeared across a bunch of CD singles. some of those tracks appear on the Sweet Ride best-of compilation.

This album seemed to come from nowhere and was pivotal to the whole early 90's alternative movement. It is one of my favorite albums and is solid all the way through. It is a mix of soft and catchy tunes with hooks and sideline diversions.
