A great record to follow two excellent records. Piano Fire might be my favourite Sparklehorse track.
Needs to be a longer album, this was incredible but too short.

a good friend of mine once walked into the room while i was listening to this album, and after a while he said that the music was like the sonic equivalent of an old roll of movie film that is faded, rough, and darkened around the edges and is always just on the verge of breaking. i thought that was a very apt description.

Strangely beautiful is how some have described the music of Sparklehorse, and I think that's very fitting. This, their third album, and first in which Mark Linkous was working free of pharmaceutical influences, is a bit more focused. Track 2 - "Gold Day" is just an amazingly beautiful song.
