Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.6/100, a mean average of 72.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.1.

There is quite an improvement from the first album, great work by Rise Against. 7/10.
A pair of headphones and a grenade. Haha! It's because it's explosive stuff right! Oh my that was great! Well Black Masks & Gasoline certainly sets the message staight that this is an album for the guerrillas. "I have an Ameriken dream and it involves black masks and gasoline" He sort of sounds angry to which means he might mean it. And it rhymes! Sort of... dream... gasoline. This album does have a standard songwriting appeal like and these songs could have easily been written by The Beatles... If they were really angry but then again John was a peace loving beatnik wasn't he? Voices Off Camera: is certainly a unique song, one sung from the eyes of an actor who is tired of being a lie when inside they want to die. Like The Angel has a good riff and Torches sets the bar quite high. But you know what? This albums fantastic run across the warzone of a dream gone sour. No weak spots for me to pick into. Rise Against put one of their best collections to tape. They're in charge. They say "Jump" and you say "how high". We clear?
