Less an album and more of a short story scored by a garage rock band's take on a spaghetti western soundtrack. A totally wild concept that is more-or-less pulled off successfully.
Atmospherically, Eyes Like the Sky is a triumph. If you listen carefully, you can even hear the tumbleweeds rolling by. Musically, the album is less engaging; the songs being constructed more as riff-based themes rather than proper arrangements serves the concept better than the overall listening experience. It's a neat experiment that's definitely worth listening to, but inessential beyond demonstrating to your nonplussed friends how effin' WEIRD King Gizzy can get sometimes.
