Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.5/100, a mean average of 71.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.3.

The beginning of the road, fine at times but a tad samey when listened as a whole album. Fair...
Bleecker Street and the title track are actually two of my favorite S&G songs. Sounds of Silence also great, and the rest of the album was a pleasant listen. Could have done without the Dylan cover and Go Tell it on the Mountain, but this is a solid album that still gets regular play time at my home.
Debut del dúo, que fracasó injustamente. A mí me parece un excelente disco de folk.
Interesting in the way Please Please Me is interesting, but not as much fun to listen to. A little surprised by the amount of gospel songs.
You're in really good shape if this is your worst album.

By chance this was my first S&G album. I know that half of it is non-original, but I'm impressed by their cover versions as well as originals, especially the cover of Bob Gibson's and Hamilton Camp's "You Can Tell The World", probably the most rocking gospel recording I've ever heard. I also think the Dylan cover really rocks. The originals are very good, as good as any of the later originals.
Brilliant folk rock album and debut. The closing track is beatiful.

It's not as good as any of their other albums, but it's nice to see the starting point of S&G. Also the title track is great.

Albeit very listenable, this is clearly not S&G at the peak of their songwriting powers.
Sounds of silence is the obvious highlight.
Bleecker heart and Sparrow are pretty interesting too. He was my brother is ok as well.
The rest is average folk with a couple of low points. Overall not bad but not outstanding either. Lots of cover songs too.
It's an album that sounds charming but at the same time monotonous and with a lot of "sunday church" feel to it.
The voices and harmonies and guitar picking are spot on of course as you would expect for S&G but the best was yet to come.
