Ive given this album some tries because Ive enjoyed her past albums a fair bit but just never could get into it. Too much slow paced stuff that is missing the hooks that make her other albums nice mindless fun.
The album can feel slow at first, because of all the midtempos coming from someone who is famous for making some awesome pop jams. That makes this a hard listen, and I feel many people kind of took one listen and said it was Kelly's worst work. But the message and delivery is pretty good throughout(except heartbeat song, heartbeat song sucks, and it probably was a bad way to start the album, leaves a bad first impression that stays throughout the rest of the initial listen). I enjoyed the production, it made the album cinematic. Deluxe edition has three great bonus tracks.
