I was worried but she found a nice balance of everything. Her vocals can be vibrant, explosive, but she can also bring it down and be more calm and seasoned. A tad overproduced, but it does a good job of complimenting her while also switching up style. The lyrics aren't her best, but they are still good, especially as pop lyrics(ie immediate, less complex and more emotional). And these hooks, these choruses, just really one great one after another.
Finally she's free from her contract with RCA and she can release an album that really showcases her talents. This album is pure soul from start to finish. The music is perfectly competent, and Kelly's vocal performance is probably one of my favorite vocal performances on an album in a long time.
