I quite enjoy this album and band. They are not to be taken too serious, they are a band about good times and being young. If you stop being pretentious and just enjoy the songs for what they are, fun little pop songs, you will like this album
Its hard to pin down quite why I don't like this album. The songs are alright, nothing special but they do their job which is to be half decent little pop songs.
The Wombats have never been the most innovative band, have never pushed boundaries and don't really do much that you can call special, which is evident on Glitterbug. The lyrics are cliche and occasionally don't make sense, the album is almost devoid of soul and originality and bar 'Emoticons' and 'Greek Tragedy' you feel like you're being sold all the way through by a band that lost their mojo and cuteness after their debut.
Don't listen to Pink Lemonade or This is Not A Party, boring and uninspiring.
