Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.3/100, a mean average of 72.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.7.

Quite Morrissey-esque (Edited)

Closest thing to the Smiths we'll ever get. But forget about that comparison - this album stands up on its own. The title track Olympian is just beautiful and one of my favourite songs ever. Look out as well for For The Dead which is a bonus track on the US album. Some very dark Morrissey-esque lyrics there.

An underrated album, maybe among the best of the britpop era. Not much variety in here, but instead you'll find awesome songs and some impressive guitar playing. Sure, the singer is highly influenced by Morrissey; but since when is this a bad thing?

Decent to good britpop. 5-10 points deducted as my enjoyment is tarnished by part of my brain constantly saying morrisey for the duration of play. Not an entirely original observation I'm sure. Some good songs here though.
