Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 67.5/100, a mean average of 65.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.9.

Loved Run DMC in the 80s but by back from hell in 90 I was losing interest, even though What's it all about was great. I don't even recognise the cover of this album on which could pass as a Naughty by Nature cover at the time. The cover and sound is very 93, with the help of some of the eras best. Most of this to me now is quite listenable, though some of the pushing of the hard type persona makes me wince, it's just not them. They do manage to bring energy and get with the 93 styles and there is a definite sound and coherence. I'm not sure I'd have enjoyed it much at the time, maybe, but possibly would have seen them as old hat. Better with time some of these rap albums, though classic it is not, a little unfair some of the hate this gets.
2nd last rap album I ever bought, last one was Dogg Pound.
