It's a Barbara Dennerlein album, you know it's going to swing. All original compositions except the one Charlie Parker blues, and while she doesn't try to break new ground, she's a good writer. It's a live album, but the audience is very unobtrusive in the recording. No bass player--all those moving, driving bass lines are being played by her feet; she even gives herself a couple of bass solos. 50 minutes of straight-ahead, toe-tapping organ jazz.
