I saw this album was listed as a 1961 release on another site (allmusicdotcom). It finds Reinhardt rejoined by his frequent collaborator Stephane Grappelli on violin and a three piece Italian rhythm section for a date in Rome in 1949. Often times the Italians are overpowered and out-classed by Reinhardt and Grappelli making for an anonymous groove. The date marks the last time Reinhardt and Grappelli recorded together. The sound mix is sketchy in parts.
