Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 60.9/100, a mean average of 59.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 59.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.8.

Ever had a musical act that you once hated only to ultimately fall in love with ? Mine is Panic At The Disco
My wife was heavily into the early P.A.T.D material and around the house I heard plenty of 2005's 'A Fever You Can't Sweat' and 2008's 'Pretty.Odd.' and TBH I found it completely annoying , I literally loathed a song such as "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" ....
Then fast forward 8 years and 2016's crooner masterpiece 'Death Of A Bachelor' happened & some how / some way I gave it a go and completely fell for it's anthemic charms going on to be one of my best albums for the 2016 & an album I adore to this day
Contrary to a previous post the lyrics are clever and under rated as proof with this line from "Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time"
"I've told you time and time again , I'm not as think as you drunk I am"
Wonderful stuff
Interesting but not all that good for modern music...
Was surprised it got nominated for our worst albums of the year, so I decided I'd give it another listen, I don't think I liked it as much as I did, still don't hate it, but the problems are much more noticeable now, crazy=genius is still fantastic though
This is a pretty mixed album, the best songs are the sinatra inspire ones, but that said they are really great, but the rest are pretty mediocre
For some reason, I never clicked with Too Weird To Live. I don't know why, I think this is a little step up from it.
I expected exactly what It is, It's not what I wanted though. I guessed it would be different and all over the place. The lyrics have taken a plunge, this is Panic! weakest album lyrically. And to be honest I think that's due to Brendon being the only one left in the band. That impacts a lot. He's got a great voice but he ain't the best lyricist in the world.
I agree with both comments below me. Ben brings up some great points. The unnecessary Rock Lobster sample (Which has now flooded the video for rock lobster with annoying fan girls) to the stupid lyrics.
LA Devote is by far the best song.
I don't overall hate it, but considering Fever is my favorite album of all time, well you get the idea. I hate to say it, but P!ATD might become another F0B.
Commercialism killed the cat.
I adored "Too Rare To Die!", and "Pretty. Odd." is still really high on my overall for a reason.
This is garbage. "LA Devotee" is the only good song, and it doesn't stand up to the last album, and "Impossible Year" is OK just because it's a total Sinatra ripoff.
I listened through this, I wanted to like it. I didn't. So I went "maybe I missed something?" I didn't. I listened again, and I can confirm, this is an album I won't be revisiting again. Total waste, and such a pity to ruin Urie's actually incredible voice with really terrible production and gimmicky sampling/effects.
The lyrics don't even offer much salvation here, things like "What are these footprints? They don't look very human like" are totally out of place and even the best lyrics, at best, are exactly what you'd expect.
I thought I was gonna hate this, but it's actually decent overall! As far as pop rock goes, this album is consistent. I really enjoyed some of he songs, I could live without a few of them, like Crazy=Genius, which is a very swingy jazzy tune remeniscent of Theres a Good Reason Why These Tables Are Numbered... From their first realease. But then there are tracks like Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time and Death Of A Bachelor that really make me enjoy this album. The lyrics are what is to be expected on an pop-radio album called 'Death of a Bachelor', but I mean, I was expecting that. The best moment of this album for me was the Sinatra-esque closing track Impossible Year. Its a piano led, heartfelt, love ballad. I highly suggest it for anyone who enjoys a good Sinatra track. Overall, it wasn't anything incredibly new, but it broke a few pop rules, and it did so with poise and rationality (lol). Overall? Enjoyable, house party jams. 8/10.
