Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.5/100, a mean average of 77.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.1.

Great groove and top notch musicianship. No doubt about that.
But sometimes there's just that and the songwriting's not good enough.
Overall a pleasant listening.
The further I went into this album the more I found myself getting lost in the music and just enjoying that smooth combination of soul and funk. The music is just so smooth and flows brilliantly throughout the album and it really makes for a relaxing listen. There are also many moments of great quality on here with some fantastic instrumental moments springing to mind and the large amount of diversity in the music keeps it fresh for the whole listen. Overall, this is definitely an album I would come back to for its relaxing and smooth atmosphere that also has a lot of quality behind it.
Malibu is a silky mixture of soul and g-funk. Anderson .Paak charismatically switches between rapping and singing while referencing childhood and romance. The albums biggest flaw is as it goes on the sexual energy becomes less erotic and more oft putting.
Incredible album, Anderson .Paak has such an incredible voice. Probably my favorite R&B album of this decade, maybe ever. A truly complete album that doesn't have a boring track. Paak has an a great skill in being able to close out a track memorably.
Favorite tracks: The Bird and Am I Wrong
Grande sopro criativo no R&B!
Incredible album, 2nd half is something truly unique. 9/10.
Come Down slaps so hard. The rest of the album is pretty cool as well. With You and The Dreamer are both solid
80/100 (Good)
A great album that I can play at any time and listen the whole way through
I hope to soak up 1% of this man's style. What a story. Best rap/r&b album of the year. This man has already put his name in conversations among the best of the best. From yesterday and today. A true talent. Approachable music and SO much fun.
A really good album. I don't like R&B usually but this is punctuated with funky grooves and great sounds. Love it. It begs to be listened to closely from start to finish. People who compare this to only Kendrick and Chance need to expand their musical references beyond the last five years, I think.
