Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.6/100, a mean average of 71.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.2.

This album is consistently good but never really pushes past that boundary into something better than that. It is lacking the edge to properly propel itself into the forefront of your mind and you find yourself being distracted quite easily. It is a little repetitive in terms of songs as well and really slow and a little boring at times. With that being said, there is no real bad cut on this record with all being pretty decent. Instrumentally, it is simple and effective but could do with fleshing out on certain tracks. The vocal from both Smith and the female singer is very high in terms of quality and they really create a good atmosphere together. I would have been intrigued to see them work together more. Overall, a consistent batch of decent songs that just misses the mark in my opinion and it needs a bit more work to be considered truly great.
A unique supergroup formed by Robert Smith of The Cure and Steven Severin of Siouxie and The Banshees during a hiatus from each band. The duo added a female singer/dancer and christened themselves "The Glove". What was supposed to be a one-off recording session ended up a fruitful 3 month collaboration and produced this album of 13 songs. The female singer/dancer is the lead singer on all but 2 songs here, where Smith croons in unmistakable Cure voice. The music while strange and weird is not in the least bit objectionable. A true find for fans of both bands.
