I like War a lot. It's probably my favorite U2 record, but I think Violent Femmes are more consistent and more personal. That record basically defines puberty.

as for the Ramones. Sure every song is relatively similar and rather simple, but they're really fun, poppy, and funny as all hell. They were the perfect counter to the overcomplicated prog musicians that took themselves way too seriously
