My Morning Jacket ratings
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 5% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 78.8/100, a mean average of 78.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.2/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 15.2.

Really good band but the album Evil Urges really has me lost. The album cover alone tells you how the album is going to sound. Z is amazing so is At Dawn and It Still Moves. Newer albums are pretty good too.
My Morning Jacket is the only hope for rock music since the 2000s. Their sound isn't perfect by any means, nor is it purely ROCK but it's the closest I've heard to Rock™ with it still being original and emotionally stimulating to listen to.
Great band. Jim James is one of the best guitar players around right now. I'd recommend all their albums, although some are much better than others.
2 It Still Moves
3 The Waterfall
4 At Dawn
6 The Tennessee Fire
7 Evil Urges
Solid band. Holdin' On To Black Metal is one bad ass f'n song, man. Don't know why it's not in that top 20 list. Though Circuital the album is down the line in best albums for this band. Overall, very solid band. It Still Moves, Z, and the rest is a subjective listening order.
Rounder89, since I wrote that last comment my opinions of my morning jacket have changed slightly. These days I actually like all of their albums except Evil Urges. I take back what I said about Okonokos it's actually a pretty good album. The reasons I don't like Evil Urges are that it sounds uninspired and forced. In my opinion Evil Urges is the floundering misfit in an otherwise consistent and powerful discography. My Morning Jacket is a band that is somewhat of an eclectic throwback to past decades and the danger in that is that there's a fine line between inspired, creative music and bland, uninspired, cliche music. Evil Urges is where mmj crosses that line and makes a pop/jam band album as if they wanted to be the next Dave Matthews band. Last but not least Jim James' vocals on this album are seriously lacking, and I'm not talking about quantity... I'm talking about quality. I'm a big mmj fan but this is the one album I wish they would take back, scrap it, and start over. I know a lot of people would disagree with me because Evil Urges is somewhat popular, but to me Evil Urges is a shrub amongst trees. IMO the three best My Morning Jacket albums in order are: It Still Moves, Z, and The Tennessee Fire.
I took the recommendation from a friend to listen to their album Z after a while and I really liked it. I dont know why, but it took me almost two more years to listen to Evil Urges and I liked that even more. From reviews I have seen a good amount of fans really like this album and a good amount really do not and I am not sure why.
Maybe you can tell me dwils0891?
Anyway I still haven't listen to everything they have to offer, so I know there is more good music to listen to from them. Jim James is an amazing musician. Check out Monsters of Folk as well.
Still can't believe this band is not more popular on this site.
Really good band. I recommend every album from this band except Evil Urges and Okonokos. Everything else is quite good. I think that "It Still Moves" is their best album.
Interersante, su mejor album es "Z"
