Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 11% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 77.5/100, a mean average of 76.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.8/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 13.2.

Tears for Fears is an English pop-rock and new wave band formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. They were a central part of the "Second British Invasion" of the 1980s and have sold over 30 million records globally.
The Hurting (1983): Their debut featured introverted hits like Mad World, Pale Shelter, and Change.
Songs from the Big Chair (1985): A global phenomenon that included their most famous singles, Shout and Everybody Wants to Rule the World.
The Seeds of Love (1989): Known for its sophisticated production and the hit Sowing the Seeds of Love.
Very underrated band with super solid albums, especially The Seeds of Love and Songs from the big chair
Songs from the big chair. One of the must own albums of the mid '80's
Very underated band, especially the two albums they made in the 90's which are awesome (Elemantal, Raoul & Kings of Spain). To me TFF were just as good - if not better - than any other great 80's bands like U2 or Depeche Mode.
Excellent New Wave/Synthpop duo and underrated as well
Underrated 80s pop masters.
Nice solid catalog overall
debut album is very special to me, 2nd and 3rd albums are still good but not close to The Hurting
