Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 39.4/100, a mean average of 33.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 33.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 29.2.

I’m staggered by the number of people who idolise Nu Metal and all its mundane, juvenile posturing and overly earnest singing and lyrics. Not being from the US I guess I underestimated the immensity of this scourge on music.

I unironically think that Limp Bizkit is musically talented and Fred Durst is the ultimate in cringe. But try to name an artist more critical for the genre as Limp Bizkit (except maybe Linkin Park).
If Nirvana is overrated then Limp Bizkit is underrated. It's not hard to find out why they're universally p00ped upon, from a critical music perspective, but I will stand here and maintain my whole dignity and say: there are definitely parts of Limp Bizkit songs that definitely slap and are relatable. I just remember in high school being blown away with the guitar and production work when I realized this was WAY better than the Nu Metal that my parents allowed me to listen to, which was basically without curse words. And the music was pretty great and so I still have a nostalgic soft spot in my heart for revisit Limp Bizkit every once in a while.
But yeah that are freaking ridiculous for sure. I still have a life bucket list goal to go to a Limp Bizkit show, probably stand in the back, with makeup and a disguise on.
Fred Durst is so bad that he manages to drag down some awesome instrumentalists.
Fred Durst is one of the biggest tools in Rock history. This band blows.
The only thing i can say nice about them is i like them better than NKOTB or the Black Eyed Peas
Fred Durst isn't the absolute worst, but he's pretty close.
