Indie-pop-rock darlings from Vancouver, snagging Neko Case was perfect. They started with a bang, delighting with generous hooks and sweet melodies throughout the first few albums, but have somewhat lost steam recently. The first 3 albums are lovely.

The new pornographers return with a mid-tempo rocker (for them anyway) picking up the pace of "challengers" a bit but still not returning to their glory days. Most songs only have 1-or-2 hooks whereas their first two albums packed 2-to-4 hooks in every song.
I liked Challengers the best. It has "Entering White Cecilia" and "Myriad Harbor" on it. Two very great songs.
