Old Marina, especially in The Family Jewels era, was excellent because it was so personal, but modern Marina is painfully mid
i used to respect her and, most importantly, enjoy her in the electra heart era. the persona she created was fantastic and fun to think about, sassy, american in the worst way... it was a satire. her twitter was on fire back then with so many teenage and intentionally shallow tweets. we can say that she made an apparent shallow album that is in reality very deep.
then she got messed up and released froot that it's meant to be deep but fails miserably. she may be happier now, but that doesn't mean anything inside her music.
that being said about the music, she ranted about terry richardson and woody allen for allegedly raping issues, but she haven't said anything about the kesha vs dr luke (aka her producer) thing... o i c
