The Libertines ratings

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 76.0/100, a mean average of 73.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.1/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 21.2.

They should have been right up my street but I never got them. Some decent songs but pete’s vocals grate on me so much that it distracts from the songs completely. Shame.
wtf, this was the last band that truly mattered. Whats wrong with the people here. Libertines is pure rock'n'roll lifestyle, their comeback album was one of the best ever, their first two albums are classics, that make you feel nostalgic for a better time. Their lyrics are poetry and philosophy. I feel bad for everyone, who thinks bon iver is the indie music of our time and never ever spent evenings singing along to this classics songs.
A Frightening lack of love for the Libertines on this website. I guess people outside of England have always struggled to 'get' these guys. I personally believe that they didn't put a foot wrong from their debut single 'What a Waster' all the way through to the officially disbanding in 2004. Even the B-sides like 'Love on the Dole' and 'The Delaney' are cracking tunes. I also think the 'Anthems for Doomed Youth' was a pleasant surprise with 'You're my Waterloo' in particular being one of the best love songs released in recent years. 'Up the Bracket' and 'The Libertines' are both in my top 20 albums of all-time. Both are punk rock masterpieces in my mind. Pete Doherty in his prime was simple one of the greats of his generation. If you like The Strokes or The Arctic Monkeys then you should enjoy the Libs. Chaotic English garage punk at its most poetic. Play loud and enjoy!
Why so little love? It would seem that with two albums in the top 500, there is plenty of BEA love for the Libertines. I only dig their debut - after awhile the boozy sloppy sounds gets a little samey. The debut IS great, however.
