Abstract and metaphorical spaces with an earthly dimension of female vocals. If this doesn't put you under a magic spell, then wizardry is probably not for you!

A supersonic blast of a debut. Oasis always had their own way to perform their songs, even if the songs didn't always completely belong to them. On this one, the performances are extra great and the punk touch Oasis maintained through their whole career is extra distinct. No need to argue, it's just rock 'n' roll!

Dizzy Mizz Lizzy has described their own music as "Paul McCartney meeting Led Zeppelin in Seattle". Pretty spot on, I'd say. Probably the strongest collection of singles found on any danish studio album. 5 out of 5 singles were smash hits in Denmark! All of these are favourites, though "Silverflame" is above them all. Incredible, absolutely fantastically amazing song that will always keep a special place in my heart. Oh, and the rest of the album pretty great too! Phenomenal debut.

A journey through a psychedelic jungle, the album that got me into both ambient and electronic music. I randomly found the track "Vertical Pig" on YouTube and a guy called it the "deepest trip ever". I can only agree.

Pink Floyd recycling the recipe from their classic 70s era once again. As usual, it's larger than life in a beautiful, melancholic way. Among all the great instrumentals of their career, "Marooned" here takes the cake for me. Even those who aren't too excited about the album gotta admit that "High Hopes" was a very proper farewell from one of the most important bands of all time.

Jeff Buckley was like a Radiohead, just with more soul and grace. Leonard Cohen's voice is gorgeous too, but it's like he wrote "Hallelujah" just so Jeff could perform a better version. I can't remember how many times I've sung it as sing-along and everybody's been trying to imitate Jeff Buckley, singing it as heavenly as possible. Gorgeous voice and gorgeous songs from a man who tragically passed on way too soon.

Euphoria meets evil. A killer in the dark that will keep the floor on fire all night. Also very recommendable when you need to stay up all night of school/work-related reasons.

The perfect tribute to British music covering a wide range of genres and styles. Quite silly, but that's its charm. Especially love those uncool "circus interludes"!

Second selection of ambient works by Aphex Twin. Stylistically much closer to actual ambient music and a whole lot eerier than its euphoric, relatively danceable big brother. James himself has stated that the album is inspired by lucid dreams which definitely makes sense. A dreamworld, but not always one you're comfortable with!

All I want for Christmas is Mariah Carey. No Christmas without her! The perfect mix of her innocent glitter pop, traditional Christmas songs and gospel/soul influences. A beautiful and festive Christmas album, among the greatest ones for the season.
