The take off and landing of everything that is Elbow. I mean, Elbow both stick to their great well-established sound, but also moves in a slightly new direction, something even proggier and textural than previous album "Build a Rocket Boys". Overall, it's still the familiar sound of one big, warm hug!

Mellow ghost stories that contain a magic similar to the one you get by looking at a sky full of stars. Probably their most atmospheric album and hauntingly beautiful!

Possibly "The Dark Side of the Moon" of ambient albums. Why, you may ask? Because it, arguably, starts with the sound of a heartbeat, though a much longer and more "dronish" one than the one you hear in the Pink Floyd album. It also has a life-changing quality to it. The "heartbeat" sound that bookends the album is probably the least interesting part of the album, but in between. Oh, boy! About 13 minutes in, you get to hear this heart-breakingly beautiful wall of sound that seems to be equal doses of absolute euphoria and devasting melancholia washing over you, like your unforgettable, haunting past creeping up from behind! A little further into the album, past midway, things start to get seriously eerie and spacey! And then it fades out again and you recognize the earthlier "heartbeat" again. Listen to it and be changed!

Floating down the endless river of sonic perfection. Finally a Pink Floyd album that focus on what the band were beyond talented rock musicians: sound perfectionists! It's what they did, it's what they do seemingly for the last time ever, creating hauntingly beautiful and fascinating soundscapes for the listener to immerse oneself in while forgetting the real world for a brief moment. The album is, like all Pink Floyd albums, a true album experience that kinda serves as a long prelude to the one and only song with lyrics, the closer "Louder Than Words" whose title summarizes perfectly what Pink Floyd were capable of, expressing with notes what a poet could never do with words. From the cheesier new age-like moments to the more intense and unsettling passages, the album is filled with subtle details and beautiful textures that it can only be the perfect tribute to Richard Wright and a very fitting coda to the band as a whole.

Ultraviolence in a cruel world? It's not totally unfair to call Lana Del Rey a sad girl, she definitely has a dark look on life, at least telling from this album. While it may be cynical and depressing to listen to, the music happens to be quite floaty and gorgeous too!

Amethystium replaces slick synths with organic strings. The atmosphere is as usual mesmerizing, but on the whole more autumnal/wintry. The way you hear individual string instruments yearning by themselves is a beautiful melancholic contrast to the otherwise spiritual sound.

It's album time, and it's even time for a good one. By good one, I refer to both: the album is good and the feel of the album is that of a good time. Danceable, playful and full of good vibes!

Christian Hjelm, former Figurines frontman, is back with his second album, another quirky collection of catchy pop tunes sung in Danish named "Vaskeægte" ("Out-and-out" seems to be the best translation here). Upbeat and earthly themes with surprisingly many influences from Danish songwriting greats such as Kim Larsen from Gasolin'. Plenty of charm and personality guaranteed to cheer up anybody who's listening!
