Under construction... some albums are definitely missing from this list while others shouldn't be on it, though I obviously like them. Specially the lower half of the list will be somewhat rearranged..

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

Not a bad list by any means, quite varied and focused substantially upon genres of great cultural significance but which are not often seen here. The metal choices are especially notable in this respect, although I am not a metal fan.
The top 4 picks were very promising but the rest was kind of safer than I expected. Still solid, though.

A good chart. I like your notes. 28 albums in common but we have very different charts. Haven't heard of Neurosis. Must look them up.

Desire is an underrated Dylan record... Never listened to Neurosis, what kind of music are they? Anyway a chart having Tool and jazz in the top 10 can't be below 90 rating :)

@hahol Thanks! I think there is going to be some changes in the lower half of the list, haven't really made the best ranking and some albums may drop out..
