I think we can call this the year of blandness. Electronic music and hip hop had just broken intohthe mainstream and therefore had transformed into another branch of pop music, rock had just died, and the world had to wait a couple years until the 9/11 attack had infiltrated into our way of thinking, and until Bush's (and middle America's initial) response to it had polarized the U.S. and the western world after that, which would result into more political music from the likes of Kanye West, Green Day and M.I.A. to name a few.
First four are 8/10, the rest is 7/10.
