1965 - I turn 9 and the sounds from the radio and from my older brothers bedroom (he's 16) are starting to feel like soundtracks to my life. With Dylan's lyrics & The Byrds rhythms - folk rock is born.
The songs that I play in my head as I walk to primary school are Yesterday; Nowhere Man; Downtown; As Tears Go By; Mr Tambourine Man (The Byrds version) and for a bit of edge I lean towards Get Off My Cloud; (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.
There is a momentum shift in the music and this is reflected in the ranking of 1965 - which sits at 19th out of the 65 years that make up 1960 to 2024.
