Top 15 Music Albums of 2008
by rkjones10

My list of favorite albums of 2008. Turned out to be a much more difficult task than 2009 was. Some of the albums that were left out of the top ten of 2008 could have easily made the top ten in 2009.

Taking all the best aspects of folk and rock music from the past 40 years, Fleet Foxes created a beautiful and warm sound of their own. A masterpiece that could stand up to anyone of it's influences.

One of the most innovative and creative bands in Indie Rock (a genre of music that is increasingly harder and harder to be so) hit their stride with this release.

Another band that survived the internet hype that surrounded them and came out on top. To me it sounds like the soundtrack to every Wes Anderson movie, which is pretty damn cool.

Without a doubt, the catchiest record of 2008. But what makes it great isn't just the few hit singles, but how well the rest of the album stands out.

An epic metal album that sounds wise beyond the band's young age. A great reminder that current heavy metal isn't just Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold. [First added to this chart: 07/10/2012]

Two of the greatest musicians from the Post Punk genre, come together to craft a fun and inviting pop album. It is the sound of Eno and Byrne probably having the most fun two people can have making a record.
