Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. I give this chart credit for more or less ordering Radiohead's albums correctly, although it would need to be updated to include A Moon Shaped Pool.

Radiohead is one of the best bands. But I don't think all 17 best ever albums are made by Thom Yorke and friends.
