Records of jazz players, Elvis, The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix are out of the rating. They are all great but the chart is limited... And it starts from 1970 (60s are wonderful absolutely).

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Although as doubleA noted, some notes would greatly improve this chart and their absence is a bit of a “blank”, it does have substantial value owing to the large number of mainly heavy metal artists — Obituary, Pantera, Neurosis, Helmet, Judas Priest, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Megadeth, Isis, Deftones, Sepultura, Death, Mastodon, Between The Buried And Me, The Melvins, Slayer, Killing Joke, Godflesh, Converge — seldom or relatively seldom seen on charts here given the cultural influence of metal.
Love this chart ~ for the most part, it is not what I usually listen to ~ but I love the energy of your choices. Great to see Wolfmother (an Aussie representative). Was hoping that you may have included Electric Mary - another excellent Aussie band ~ just a thought :).

Nice, personal and unique! Even though there's an obvious preference in certain genres, it manages to be very clear this is the music YOU love. Also some neat surprises like Deftones, Slayer and Swans! Some notes would do this chart great wonders!
Could recommend In the Nightside Eclipse by Emperor, White Light from the Mouth of Infinity by Swans, Ege Bamyasi by Can and Octopus by Gentle Giant. They all might not actually be that similar to what I see here, but may be something fresh that you might still enjoy ;)
Hell yeah!! Finally another chart with some Deftones. Dillinger Escape Plan! So much good stuff here.

Good chart - lots of heavy metal
Nice Chart, Good to go with 3 albums max,
3 albums per artist is still to much fore me. But still a great rock chart!
Really Got to disagree with Dr. Feelgood ahead of Appetite.

Probably too much 80's hair rock for my taste but apart from that we have some middle ground with At The Drive-In, Deftones etc. Great to see Dry in there. It's my favourite P J Harvey album and is an ex top 100 on my chart.
