Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.9/100, a mean average of 72.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 20.0.

Probably A-ha’s best album although Hunting High and Low runs it close. As a follow up to that Album A-ha took a slightly different turn with style. A far heavier and more serious sound compared to their debut, but it worked really well. All songs are decent except Maybe Maybe with Manhattan Skyline and I’ve Been Losing You the standouts.

This is an album/CD I can still listen to in 2019 and still enjoy from start to finish. Favourites are track 3,7 & 10.

For me there isn't a lot to choose between this album and Hunting High and Low. Both are excellent but quite different albums, I would say this one has a slightly harder less pop edge to it. 'Cry Wolf' and 'Manhatten Skyline' are my top tracks.

A very typical 80s pop album, I don't hear any identity in this music.

Easily their best album, includes the best song they ever did (Manhattan Skylines) and 8 other great tracks. The only flaw is the boring Maybe Maybe, which is what people who don't like A-ha think A-ha are like, unintelligent pop fluff.

Seem to remember this being good and their best. Not heard it in many a year only the stuff on greatest hits which I have on cd. Have this on vinyl must did it out! They are looked on as a.joke band by the cool police who cite the overrated prefab sprout as an 80s highlight and laugh when you mention aha. Btw check john peels online record collection and you will find this amongst the obscurities. Vindication!

It's rather not the best a-ha album. The best track; Manhattan Skyline others are under average

The thing about this album is that it was a shock for the people who were expecting a cheerful boyband easy listening experience.
Instead what they got was a dark, melodic, demanding collection of songs. It is one of the best examples of the 80s pop scene, exploring the boundries of experimentation...
