"Apart from the Passionate Friend there aren't many other tracks that would I describe as singles. There are a few good album tracks like Tiny Children, And The Fighting Takes Over, Great Dominions which scrape this album into a 7...just. Julian Cope is one of the voices that I remember from the e..."  [+]  Reply

"One of Gil's classics, although not his best (but that's a matter of personal taste). The title track is the most well-known, but Dominguinho's "Lamento Sertanejo" is another memorable moment. "Tenho Sede" would have its definitive version in Gil's wonderful "MTV Unplugged"."  Reply

"A showcase of this man's many facets at this point in time. Had a little bit of everything, some Frippertronics, some King crimson style music pieces and even a potential hit with Darryl Hall of Hall & Oates on lead vocals (You Burn me Up I'm a Cigarette)."  Reply

"Always a challenge. Typically off-beat and intricate. Humour in the lyrics and the variation between verse and chorus in the opening track starts off as jarring but then draws you in."  Reply

"Really nice album. Its not a super exciting album but is great for background music or just chilling in the afternoon. Theres some great string and piano arrangements. Favourites: Shes mine Pt1/Pt2, Vile Mentality, Neighbours, From whom the bell tolls"  Reply

"It's a shame that this album's reputation precedes it, because it's really not a bad record at all. It's a little generic and uninspired in moments, but there are some genuinely pretty good songs in here (The Dividing Line, Calling All Stations, One Man's Fool, Uncertain Weather, etc.) and by my ..."  [+]  Reply

"Perhaps the most fascinating pure pop record of the 00s, Rihanna gets icier and a bit self-consiouscly more gothic and grandiose on this record, to mostly positive results. Of course the well-documented personal turmoil does seethe through the record, more than a bit awkwardly at points, but her ..."  [+]  Reply
