"Tracy thorn's voice was never more beautiful. Every deftly written lyric coupled with her voice begs you to listen and react. One of those albums that should have been huge, but the world is too shallow to take it. "Your pockets are lined with promises, when did promises ever pay for shoes.""  Reply

"(As someone who is late to the Jane Weaver experience, this is a very intriguing introduction to her music. This album is a lil pop gem full of excellent ideas executed beautifully. It dips its toes in psych pop and art pop and synth pop and more dreamy bits etc and it almost all works very nicel..."  [+]  Reply

"Another excellent Frank Sinatra album. Strangers in the night, off course includes the hit single title track, but there is plenty of other great material. There is the lovely, summer wind, a superb version of, all or nothing at all, and an odd take on, downtown. I don't know if Frank doesn't lik..."  [+]  Reply

"This album is at times both brilliant and frustrating. Oh No, Fitz and Dizzyspells and Effigy are remarkably pretty and melodic songs. Masterswarm and Souverian are lengthier tracks, with interesting structures and moments of smart complexity. On the other side of things, the album is held back b..."  [+]  Reply

"One of their best records. The first side is excellent, the second side okay. Still, it's great British seventies bluesy rock with Paul Rodgers on great vocal form. Live for the music, simple man and the title track are the highlights."  Reply

"Yeasayer's sound hasn't budged from their last release. There are less "hits" on this indie synth-rock album, pointing to a more "complicated" feel this time around. "reagan's skeleton" and "devil and the deed" are the best tracks if you're looking for a place to start."  Reply

"Possibly the best 70s punk record, and yes, I'm aware of the existence of London Calling. Seriously though, this record is so much fun you won't even believe it. Just a bunch of ridiculously talented people playing around with angry music and giving the best they can. Incredible."  Reply

"This is a good album but I was waiting the whole album for it to be great and it didn't become what I thought it could be. The first half is all nice smooth .Paak (besides Tints, blatant radio bait). All enjoyable but there is something missing that could take them to the next level, I'm not sure..."  [+]  Reply
